Grace Gabber

Graduate Research Assistant

Grace is a Graduate Research Assistant at IEPI where she contributes to the team’s research and consulting portfolios. Grace is also a PhD student in McMaster’s Department of Philosophy, supervised by Prof. Claudia Emerson. Her dissertation focuses on the ethics of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and how the One Health approach can be better conceptualized to promote effective collaboration between stakeholders addressing AMR.

Grace holds an Honours BSc in Integrated Science and Certificate for Applied Ethics and Policy from McMaster University where she conducted research on the ethical use of human challenge trials for malaria vaccine development and her Honours thesis on the ethical challenges of pediatric immunization gaps in LMICs caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Grace also holds a Water Without Borders Graduate Diploma issued jointly by the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) and McMaster University. Through her research and work at IEPI, Grace integrates her scientific and philosophical training with the goal of addressing real-world ethical issues.
